VW ACTION CHARITY AUCTION

We've had a fantastic response to the VW Action auction in previous years. Every year traders and individuals donate or make great items for the auction, and whilst it is quite gratifying to know that on the day, they made a good price, we must thank everyone who has had any involvement. It would be great if the auction at this year's VW Action event could see a record amount raised, with all proceds going to St. Nicholas Hospice Care.

The St. Nicholas Hospice Care provided both Laurence and his family with support throughout his treatment. From the moment they received his diagnosis, throughout his battle and even after his passing. The Hospice have not only provided specialist, emotional and hands on care but also bereavement support in the hardest of times. The team at the hospice kindly showed his wife how to administer his medication properly which enabled Laurence to be at home and even on occasions at Santa Pod!

When at St. Nicholas, Laurence was always cared for extremely well and his allocated team would always work exceptionally hard to try and find relief or suppressant for his symptoms, often having him back in the comfort of his own home swiftly.

It’s easy to say that the family believe the support of the hospice was and continues to be invaluable. They discovered that the average cost of running this facility was close to £8,000,000 each year. Only 20% of their vital work being funded, leaving an enormous 80% to be contributed by fundraising, donations and help from the community.

We are proud to be supporting St. Nicholas Hospice, all proceeds from the Sunday auction will be going to the Charity! Make sure to check out what’s up for grabs and put in your best bids for a worth while cause.

Massive thanks are due to the generous traders, private individuals and in fact everyone who has provided items to be auctioned or bid on them. We hope that this year is another memorable one.

Certainly the generosity of many of the VW Action traders cannot be faulted, as the quality of the items offered are always exceptional. Whilst there are always bargains to be had, we would also like to salute the generosity of many bidders each year who for some items pay 'over the odds' because it is for a good cause.

In previous years several companies and individuals customised toilet seats, toolboxes and all manner of items to be auctioned. For 2023 we are asking donors to create any unique item. We would like the donated item to reflect you and your interests, as well as to appeal to the VW Action buying public. Perhaps you can incorporate a 'Disco' theme?

If you are big into skateboarding, maybe a custom decorated or even custom built deck... if you are a musician, maybe a customised instrument - basic ukuleles are pretty cheap. If you have great artistic skills, maybe a piece of VW inspired art. Whatever floats your boat. Details here.
