DRAGSTRIP ACTION

2022 saw VW Action live up to its name once again, with TWO DAYS RWYB (VAG and invited guests only) and of course, the now legendary NIGHT RACING.

This year we expect to see the best VW cars from Britain and Europe competing in the NIGHT RACING session for the £2000 prize fund (at present, we expect this to increase). The Run What You Brung sessions will again take place on Saturday and Sunday, where you'll be able to test and tune your own car on the dragstrip, just remember to bring your driving licence. Back in 2008, VW Action introduced the VW Action 'Speed Club' for all sub 13 second VWs running at the event. Backed up 12.99 to 12.00 gains automatic entry into the '12 second club', and a 12 second club trophy (A VW Action 'Oscar' engraved "12 SECOND CLUB"). 11.99 to 11.00, 10.99 to 10.00, and 9.99 to 9.00 similarly have their respective clubs, all of which have trophies for every new member, and all of which will be recorded, with records maintained on the VW Action website HERE. Entry into these exclusive clubs is automatic and free on the production of two timing tickets within 1% of each other - but the onus is on you to present your tickets at the VW Action Information Centre in good time before the trophy presentation on the startline at lunchtime on Sunday. We are looking to induct further members into every one of these clubs during the weekend.

The night racing at VW Action - without doubt most spectator's favourite session of the weekend - now has a prize fund, to be shared between the quickest VWs on the track on Saturday evening. Thanks to the generosity of companies and individuals who have donated/sponsored, the prize fund currently stands at £2000 to be split amongst the quickest 5 aircooled VW cars, quickest 5 watercooled VW cars, quickest 5 VW buses and quickest 5 A/E VWs in this session.

Runs made during the daytime on Saturday and Sunday will count for the various VW Action Speed Clubs etc., but ONLY runs made during the official night racing session will be eligible for prize money. Only cars that have made sub-14 second runs during Saturday's daytime session will be eligible to enter the Night Racing.

VW Action will also feature an awesome array of the very quickest demo cars the sport has to offer. This has once again been made possible by the fact that VW Action is a week before the 'FIA European Finals', and a number of cars should take the opportunity to get some testing in before they race in earnest. There should be Top Fuel cars from across Europe, capable of running the quarter-mile in less than 5 seconds and speeds in excess of 300mph. You will also be able to check out the many other 'demo' drag racers, testing for the FIA European Finals. Also look out for Supercharged Nitro and Alcohol burning Rails, Slingshots and Funny Cars of the Supercharged Outlaws - fantastic in the dusk. Look out too for the Gasser Circus and Taz Racing boys and girls and Outlaw Street racers - all of whom should all be out in force.

Once again, VW Action will feature Night Racing on the Saturday Evening and add to all this, the Fireforce Jet Car and there really is something for everyone on the track at VW Action.
