VW ACTION CHARITY AUCTION

We've had a fantastic response to the VW Action auction in previous years. Every year traders and individuals donate or make great items for the auction, and whilst it is quite gratifying to know that on the day, they made a good price, we must thank everyone who has had any involvement. It would be great if the auction at this year's VW Action event could see a record amount raised, with all proceds going to Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People, in memory of Dylan Riddell (a Santa Pod marshal who passed away earlier this year).
Rainbows Children's Hospice are incredibly grateful to the VW community for supporting our work and helping us make a difference to the lives of babies, children, young people, and their families across the East Midlands.
As the region's only dedicated children's hospice, Rainbows provides specialist care and support to more than 1,000 children and young people living with life-shortening and terminal conditions. We are there for families through some of life's most challenging moments, offering expert clinical care, emotional support, respite, and end-of-life care when it is needed most.
Our support extends far beyond the hospice itself. In Northamptonshire and across the East Midlands, our dedicated teams provide locally based care in family homes, communities, and hospitals. Our specialist nurses work alongside NHS colleagues to support our babies, children and young people, helping families receive the right care at the right time, wherever they are.
Through our Hospice at Home service, we bring Rainbows directly to families, delivering expert care and support in the comfort and familiarity of their own homes. This enables children and young people to spend precious time with their families, creating special memories together while receiving the care they need.
Rainbows is proud to be rated Outstanding in all 5 areas by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), a reflection of the expertise, commitment, and compassion shown by our staff and volunteers every day. However, none of this would be possible without the support of our local communities, businesses, fundraisers, and dedicated supporters.
It costs around £9 million every year to provide our vital services, yet only 15% of our funding comes from government sources. The remaining funds must be raised through donations, fundraising activities, and partnerships such as this one.
By choosing Rainbows you are helping ensure that no family faces their journey alone. Every pound raised will help provide specialist care, emotional support, short breaks, and vital services for children and families when they need them most.

Massive thanks are due to the generous traders, private individuals and in fact everyone who has provided items to be auctioned or bid on them. We hope that this year is another memorable one.
Certainly the generosity of many of the VW Action traders cannot be faulted, as the quality of the items offered are always exceptional. Whilst there are always bargains to be had, we would also like to salute the generosity of many bidders each year who for some items pay 'over the odds' because it is for a good cause.
In previous years several companies and individuals customised toilet seats, toolboxes and all manner of items to be auctioned. Donors can create any unique item they think will appeal to the VW Action buying public.
If you are big into skateboarding, maybe a custom decorated or even custom built deck... if you are a musician, maybe a customised instrument - basic ukuleles are pretty cheap. If you have great artistic skills, maybe a piece of VW inspired art. Whatever floats your boat.
