At this year's VW Action we have two great Dance acts to play on the Friday night - The Acid Brothers and DJ Trademark along with The Narni Shakers.
"The Acid Brothers, we don't just do Acid, we do Real House Music."
Although not real brothers Stuart J and Matt Emulsion have known each other virtually all there lives. They started their musical journey by listening to Soul, Funk, Disco, Electro and Hip Hop, creating dance routines and playing tracks at family gatherings. They were soon exposed to the early House scene listening to pirate radio stations and hearing of legendary raves such as Genesis and Sundance. The pair started off playing at local house parties and soon progressed onto the club scene with there eclectic selections. Although having DJ'd together for many years the duo didn't have an official name until 2013 and so The Acid Brothers were born. Even though they are big lovers of Acid House, they also play House Music across the board, old skool and hardcore classics. They love music new and old, and they stand for delivering Real House to the masses. The duo have played at venues all over the UK and have also marked their territory in Europe and the USA. They are residents for Moondance, Iridescence, So Soulful, So Oldskool and The World Bodypainting Festival and have appeared on lineups alongside Marshall Jefferson, Danny Rampling, Kerri Chandler, Mark Archer, Slipmatt, Ratpack and many more. You can hear The Acid Brothers every Saturday from 1pm - 3pm on Centreforce 883 DAB London 2.
VW Action 'Hall of Famer' DJ Trademark returns to play the Friday Night Dance Tent to drop one of his legendary Action sets! Having been established from the early days of the rave scene Trademark went on to become a well-known figure within the Drum 'n' Bass community. His versatility to drop a killer set and his unique DJ-ing style has carried him all over the globe, playing early 90s Hardcore and Jungle right through to cutting edge Drum & Bass. Having performed at the legendary World Party raves of the early 90s, Trademark is no stranger to the big stage, and having already performed at some of the biggest and best VW shows around over the past decade you can expect plenty of classics - not to be missed.
Main Stage/Marquee, Friday Night.
For years now one of the most anticipated elements of VW Action has been the Saturday night 'theme party'. The level of participation in the fancy dress has been mindblowing. 2019's 'Roman Toga Party' show was particularly impressive as the marquee filled up with all manner of 'Ancient Roman' characters. 2020 will see Saturday evening's stage dressed with 80s icons and the fancy dress possibilities could range from simple 'big hair', legwarmers and shoulder pads to those dressed as 80s TV and movie icons - think 'Ghostbusters', 'Miami Vice', 'The A-Team', 'Top Gun', 'Magnum p.i.' and of course, 'Back To The Future' amongst many others - or 80s rock and pop icons like Queen, Prince, Madonna, Wham or the many 'New Romantic' bands of the era, etc. We're really hoping that you go the extra mile with your costumes. On past experience it's certain most visitors will.
The party kicks of with a special '80s Rock & Pop Anthems' video set from Bri Vinyl who will be warming up the night for what follows... and that is one of the world's premier 80s bands, The Deloreans playing those huge 80s anthems that everyone appears to love singing along and getting down to. Not to be missed.
Jensen D Groover will be your host for the remainder of the evening, along with the Narni Shakers as sexy 80s ladies. Expect a full on party vibe with Pop, Dance, 80s anthems and sing-along tunes to keep the party moving - and as always - expect the unexpected!
DJ Adey S will be manning the decks to keep the energy levels up - playing Indie Rock classics all night.
BOBBY DAZZLER (Fuelers Bar, Friday Evening 9.00pm)
Long time VW enthusiast, Bobby normally plays guitar and sings in a five piece band, at VW Action, he's flying solo - last year, he smashed it - so we invited him back, acoustic anthems, not to be missed.
SLIM47 (Fuelers Bar, Friday Evening 10.30pm)
We are really pleased welcome back SLIM47. They always deliver. Anthemic Indie Rock at its very best. - please don't miss them.
For the last couple of years, we have turned the Fuelers Bar into a 'secret warehouse' - parodying the ‘secret raves’ of the nineties, it has proved to be a great success and we're doing it again. Of course, it's not 'secret' nor 'illegal' - nor do we expect a visit from the boys in blue - but hopfully we can create a vibe that oldschool dance fans will enjoy.
The evening opens with London based DJ Jay Fresco - a product of the Ibiza DJ Academy will set the tone for the evening - and is swiftly followed by Action favourite Niki Dimensions.
Raindance, Labrynth, Epidemik, Slammin Vinyl - some of the most legendary Raves in the last few decades which Niki has been fortunate enough to not only play at, but hold residencies. Since the heady Summer of Love in 1989, collecting new music and DJ-ing - first through Pirate Radio and Warehouse Raves and now a regular on the FM Radio, starting on stations like Rude FM, Passion FM, Origin, Kool FM, he is now presenting shows on London DAB Station Centreforce with the cream of Dance DJs known the World over. Niki has played in venues across the length and breadth of the UK and Europe - whether it be a dingy underground dive, a glitzy superclub or open air festival in tents - with over 30 years of music and experience playing original Acid House right up to the cutting edge beats and bass, Niki never fails to deliver.
Fuelers Bar, Saturday evening from 8.00pm
In keeping with the VW Action 2020 theme for Saturday evening, starting at 00.15am in the Fuelers Bar, the VW Action late nite movie is Steven Spielberg's/Robert Zemeckis's iconic, 'Back To The Future'. High schooler Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox) is catapulted back to the 1950s, where he sees his parents in their teens - and accidentally changes the history of how Mom and Dad met. With fantastic performances from Christopher Lloyd, Fox himself, and the star of the show, a 1980s Delorean.
You'll need to bring your deckchair, sleeping bag or blanket - and in the tradition of previous 'sleepovers', we'll provide some free popcorn and soda. Enjoy!
